Elise & Sander

A long weekend in the Netherlands

November 2010 Posted on Tue, November 09, 2010 22:15:53

Yesterday we came home after a nice long weekend with Oma and Opa in the Netherlands.

Elise enjoyed eating fruit with her oma

… dancing alone or with anybody who joined

… playing outside with cousin Anne and Abel

… and taking a walk with the family.

Elise can’t talk yet, we’re going to have to wait another few months for that. But she doesn’t exactly need language to express her feelings, and she does understand quite a lot now. In both languages, here’s proof:

Lego

Elise is very much into moving stuff these days. All her clothes into the guest room, all her toys into the bathroom and all her dad’s favourite IT equipment onto the balcony – that kind of stuff. Oh yeah, and it goes without saying that she doesn’t move it back. After all, that’s what parents are for… 🙂

But above all, she is into climbing and Lego. She’ll basically climb anything and is quite smart at it too, moving stuff into strategic positions so that she can reach greater heights – an early sign of things to come, no doubt… 🙂 I hope to catch her on tape while she is mid-air one of these days, so to be continued.

Here’s a short Lego one though, notice her advanced stone-turning technique, known as the stomach-roll in the underground Lego community:
