Elise & Sander

This Saturday Elise started walking – for real! She suddenly just stood up and started walking around by her own. It was a great moment for both of the parents, but the father got really enthusiastic when he realized what she was really doing: she was kicking a ball around.

Enter Elise, exit parents. She will be calling the shots from now on. Why? Because she learned how to say no. Well, she doesn’t actually say it, but she shakes her head.

I have to admit that I am to blame for this, as I also used the head shaking technique in an effort to make clear to Elise what is acceptable and what not. Never thought it would come to this though.

And don’t think that this actually is a blessing, that it means she no longer needs to cry to make her discomfort apparent. No no, the head shaking technique is a special instrument which is only to be used to tease the parents. Crying is for the serious stuff, head shaking is just to get on people’s nerves.

But there’s something I have to admit. I’ve seen a lot of head shaking in my time, but nobody shakes their head quite like Elise does. The video is proof.

There’s nothing like fooling around with mum/mor/mama, aka Lene. I can do this ALL day!
